Aladdin

Aladdin is a musical fantasy film, released in 1992. The movie was produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures.

It was based on one of the stories in One Thousand and One Nights, a collection of Middle Eastern and South Asian stories and folk tales compiled in Arabic during the Islamic Golden Age. The story was not originally in the Arabic text, but was added in the 18th century.

Aladdin is the 31st Disney animated feature film and it was a part the Disney film era known as the Disney Renaissance.

The movie is about a street boy names Aladdin, who frees a genie from a lamp, and finds his wishes granted. However, he soon finds that Jafar has other evil plans for the lamp, and for the Princess, Jasmine.

The original voices include Scott Weinger (Aladdin), Robin Williams (Genie), Jonathan Freeman (Jafar) and Linda Larkin (Jasmine).

The film was followed by 2 direct-to-video sequels: The Return of Jafar (1994) and Aladdin and the King of Thieves (1996).

It also followed by a television show with the same name as the original movie (1994-1995).
